Dark skin is a curse from God for unrighteousness

Black skin is a result of having not been “valiant” enough in the pre-existence, which was the basis for denying Black people full fellowship in the church until 1978. Native Americans also are cursed with a dark skin because of their (or their ancestors’) unrighteousness, but can become “white and delightsome” if they become righteous. Mormons don’t mention this much, but it is still in the Book of Mormon (look in the index for “skin” “dark” and “black”).

Passwords and secret handshakes to enter heaven

Part of the secret Mormon temple ceremony (the endowment) includes learning the four secret handshakes and their secret passwords which will enable faithful Mormons to enter past the angels guarding the gates of the highest level of heaven (the “celestial kingdom”). I learned them when I went through that ceremony, when we Mormons still had to mime the punishment of having our throats slit and our chests ripped open, if we should reveal them. (They are actually copies of 19th century Masonic grips and penalties).

Adam (the Bible’s first “human being”) was a God!

Mormons are multi-theistic, teaching that they can become gods (as man is, God once was; as God is, man may become) and that Adam was a god; i.e. Michael the Archangel actually created the world under the direction of Elohim and Jesus and after the earth was completed, he then became the first man to populate the earth! Oh and this happened some 6,000 years ago… The earth is only 12 to 14 thousand years old? What about Ardi (ARA-VP-6/500), Lucy, Homo heidelbergensis, Neanderthal and the other ancient human remains, from 4.5 millions years ago up until 30 thousand years ago, that prove there was NO Adam. Thank you to Copernicus, Galileo and all of the other persecuted scientists that brought the dawn of truth upon humankind.

They Believe They Will Become Like God

They actually believe that faithful believers will become like God.

It’s even in their own holy scriptures:

“BEHOLD, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.”

(New Testament | 1 John 3:1 – 2)

Virgin birth of Jesus

Over the years various prophets and apostles in the mormon church have commented on the Virgin birth of Jesus. They suggest that Mary was a virgin in the sense that she had not known any mortal men. But that God has begotten Jesus in the same natural way that we were begotten by our parents.

Brigham Young: “The birth of the Saviour was as natural as are the births of our children; it was the result of natural action. He partook of flesh and blood – was begotten of his Father, as we were of our fathers.” Journal of discourses vol. 8, page 115.
