Polytheistic Religion
The biggest garrot offered to the rightous is to be accepted into the highest level of heaven where you are offered a realm to be the residing god. What exactly that means is vague and can be interpreted to mean several things. but the belive in the existance of other gods is a form of polytheism. Additionally our the “heavenly father” who orignatted from Kolob is not described as the first of all gods. Since you can become a god of a realm, who is to say that the “heavenly father” is not someone else who was rightous enough to acquire godhood?

I’m with you, John, who’s to say? The idea that children of God will continue to grow, learn, develop, and become as their heavenly parents is one of the Mormon doctrines I find most beautiful. I think it’s appropriate to mention that Mormons worship only one god, however.

LikeDislikeIt is clearly an evil polytheistic religion. They teach that all faithful Mormons will be god. They worship God, Jesus, and Joseph Smith. As a former cult member we worshiped Joseph Smith more than their false Jesus. They brain wash the youth and lie, lie, lie.

LikeDislikeTaylor, obviously you were not long, or perhaps never, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. If you had been, you would know that Mormons worship only God and His son, Jesus Christ. Most members have great respect and appreciation for Joseph Smith and all Church presidents since Joseph Smith, but most definitely do not worship them. Not sure what “cult” you belonged to but it appears you are sadly misinformed about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. The youth of that Church have every opportunity to learn what is true and what is not and make decisions about their own beliefs.

LikeDislikeKarla, if you read what Prophet Joseph Smith said, in detail, in his funeral speech, the King Follett discourse, you can see that he considers it a “first principle of the Gospel” to know that Heavenly Father was once a man, who progressed into Godhood. Why deny it? It is one of the most original and unique things about the LDS religion.

LikeDislikeEssEm, i’ve read this and it is creepy! Jehovah was a sinner and progressed??? The whole LDS religion is false! They have great people, so sad they have no salvation. As the scripture states (Under Jesus priesthood) He who has been set free is free indeed according to scripture..
