Move over Saint Peter, a woman can’t get into heaven unless her husband lets her in and once there, she will get to be eternally pregnant with billions of spirit children.

This is not what Mormons believe. Most of these posts are absolutely ridiculous. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches no such thing and the members believe no such thing.
First. The only thing that can stop someone from getting into heaven are personal choices like accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. No spouse or family member will decide where they will go.
Second. Where the heck did you get this non-sense about eternal pregnancy? This is not a doctrine that mormons believe in.

LikeDislikeUntrue, a family member of mine was Mormon and that is EXACTLY what is taught. They left that Faith for that and 5 other ‘laws’ , ‘teachings’ … We reviewed that teaching and others while they made their decision, I have seen the teaching, stating it isn’t true will not change the fact that it is still taught and believed!
LikeDislikeActually… I was raised Mormon and this is exactly what I was taught. We are born first as Spritial children of a God and his wife. We waited to be born here on Earth to obtain our fleshly bodies that will be resurrected in the end times. If we live a very good Mormon life, the man and his eternally married wife can become God/Godess of their own world and begin to have spiritual babies of their own to populate their own worlds. This IS the Mormon churches belief. They teach it little by little to its members slowly introducing their beliefs as you go. I was in about year 8 when I started learning about this.

LikeDislikeIm a mormon and its not true that the we women cant go into heaven unless our husband lets us that is the biggest lie ever
I know. But we do believe that our husbands will have more than one wife in the heaven.
LikeDislikeThere’s a specific temple ceremony relating directly to this. Bajehils is correct. Women need their husbands to gain access to the Celestial kingdom.
While I’m remaining deliberately vague, they have to tell their husbands something in order to gain entrance.
LikeDislikeSo your husband doesn’t “let you in” but you can’t get in without a husband. I understand that a man can’t get in without being married as well though. I also understand that there are 3 celestial heavens and it is realy the highest one that only allows married people in, but this would not prevent them from entering the two lower heavens. So in my opinion, the original commentor is correct, but leaving out important information.

LikeDislikeWhy do people complain for things they are not concern of while they themselves do not carry to there life a little good that Mormons have? They speak of race, garments, funds, priesthood, temples, Godhood etc. every now and then, What do you anti-Mormons have instead?
Look here, What African leaders do to their people if not exploiting their own people?. Why aren’t they being civilized if not that they are of low race? ( or rather cursed?) Why don’t you Leave God accomplish his purpose on things he planed including your Owen selves? I myself am an African and feel good about the Mormon Doctrine. Remember without segregation there is no growth, and Agency is a law of Heaven, Without good there is no bad. God will chose amongst us who were real people and who were just a people.
What is bad about God being as Man? Was Jesus not a man? nor was his mother a woman? What is wrong with you people of low mind who can not reason along with life? Why do you think in your minds that God Just created us and he is so mindful of us and we do the very bad things you have ever head through all man-kinds life, and sill he dose not phase (wipe) us out of his face if we are not related to him? Who are you to judge GOD? Just be Good and ask God in sincerity about the Mormon Doctrine I know it is of God and Joseph Smith is and was His Prophet
Who did more that any body who lived on earth to the kingdom of God save Jesus only. And the church he organized is the only True kingdom of God on Earth today whether you like it or not. AntiMormons are dwindling in unbelief.

LikeDislikeFissoo, if you believe that you are “cursed” and a “lower race” then speak for yourself. I seldom have seen such BS comment. Only a simple minded person considers believing in something that puts him/her and his/her entire race down. Don’t have any pride? Don’t you have a mother and a father and don’t you respect them for who they are? You are a sad individual indeed.

Of course Morman beliefs seem abnormal, but Why would wearing magic underwear be any wierder than Sikhs who carry a kirpan and never cut their hair? Any how much wierder is it that Joe Smith translated a bunch of golden plates which disappeared; than a god talking to us from a
burning bush?

LikeDislikeIn the church history, volume 6, pages 408-410, Joseph Smith said he did more than any man including Jesus Christ for the church. That to me is crazy. And as far as the comment about a leader in in Africa exploiting their own people and the lds church is: the church claims to be representing for God, the continent Africa didn’t.
ewww. joe smith….greater than even Almighty God in the mormon cult.
…..”the only thing that can stop someone from getting into heaven are personal choices like accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior.” Ha! More proof Mormons aren’t Christians if they think accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior STOPS them from getting into heaven. Either that or Britt’s grammar is as poor as her grasp of the Mormon faith.

LikeDislikeUm tht is sooo wrong in sooo many ways
Was this answer helpful?
LikeDislikeThis is exactly what Mormons believe but no longer talk about. Know your facts. Read D&C (before they removed parts of it, even as it is it’s pretty clear.) Men right now are in polygamous marriages within the LDS church and these marriages are sanctioned. If a women dies or a man is divorced he can be sealed to more then one women. The LDS faith still practices spiritual polygamy in 2011.
These quotes are from mormonwiki.org
“From [Joseph Smith] I learned that the doctrine of plural and celestial marriage is the most holy and important doctrine ever revealed to man on the earth, and that without obedience to that principle, no man can ever attain to the fulness of exaltation in celestial glory.” – William Clayton, Historical Record, Vol. 6, pp. 225-227
“Our exaltation depends on marriage…. Our Heavenly Father has given us the law of eternal marriage so that we can become Like him. We must live the law of eternal marriage to become as he is — able to have spirit children.” (Gospel Principles, p. 231.)
How polygamy factors in to exaltation is commonly misunderstood, and it is in fact actively obfuscated by modern LDS leaders, teachers, and apologists (commonly discounted with a reference to Official Declaration 1).
LDS Church teachers in time since D&C 132, have demanded that polygamy be followed, and reinforce the damnation of not entering into polygamy:
“. . . he that abideth not this law (polygamy) can in no wise enter into my glory, but shall be damned, saith the Lord.” (D & C, 132:27)
“Go ye, therefore, and do the works of Abraham; enter ye into my law [polygamy] and ye shall be saved.” (D & C, 132:32)
‘”The only men who become Gods . . . are those who enter into polygamy.” (Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses, vol. 11, p. 269)
“I bear my solemn testimony that plural marriage is as true as any principle that has been revealed from the heavens. I bear my testimony that it is a necessity, and that the Church of Christ in its fullness never existed without it. Where you have the eternity of marriage you are bound to have plural marriage; bound to and it is one of the marks of the Church of Jesus Christ in its sealing ordinances.” (George Teasdale, Journal of Discourses, vol. 25, p. 21)
‘”The Lord has said, that those who reject this principle [polygamy] reject their salvation, they shall be damned, saith the Lord . . . they will finally go down to hell and be damned if they do not repent.” (0rson Pratt, Journal of Discourses, vol. 17, pp. 224-225)
LikeDislikeYour insertions of “polygamy” into the scriptural quotes from D&C 132 are incorrect – “this law” and “my law” refer to “the new and everlasting covenant” of eternal marriage, which can include polygamy but does not require it.

LikeDislikeYou need to get a copy of: The Changing World of Mormonism, written by Jerald and Sandra Tanner, great-great granddaughter of Brigham Young. It is written for Mormons and it contains all the original documents of the Mormon faith and the changes that were made to make the religion more palatable for its members and the public. Some historians of LDS have even been murdered because they discovered that there had been changes and threatened to make the original documents public. I even have newspaper clippings of one such incident.I studied with a bishop of the church and he told me I had learned things many members did not even know. I think you should do some investigating. I have a feeling it will surprise you to learn the truth, if you dare!

LikeDislikeWonder what Mormons would say about polyandry which the Toda people practiced?
LikeDislikeA Mormon women can only attain the “Celestial Kingdom” by having her husband call her secret name through the veil, and being sealed to him. It is commonly known, taught, and doctrine that they will then become as God is. He creates worlds without number with Billions of spirits. Who’s going to create these “spirit children?” I don’t think you get what “Heaven” you are working towards. Eternally pregnant. Sounds like fun to me. Mormon Doctrine clearly states that sealed/celestial married men and women “will live eternally in the family unit and have spirit children, thus becoming Eternal Fathers and Eternal Mothers”
LikeDislikeThis kind of falls under the heading of repeating a half-truth so as to make the actuality look odd or downright wrong. The true fact of the matter is this, that LDS doctrine is that nobody gets into the top level of the celestial kingdom without having been married “for time and all eternity”, and they don’t get in without their spouse accompanying them. As the Apostle Paul once said, “Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.” (1 Cor. 11:11)
The lower two levels of the celestial kingdom are for the single folks of either gender.
As to the “eternally pregnant” part of your assertion, that is just simply laughable. Pregnancy is a mortal condition required for humans to reproduce. In immortality it is completely unnecessary.
LikeDislikeoh well since you put it like that….LMAO….dude like what you said is any better…single people will have a lower heaven automatically for NOT choosing an unfit earth mate…SEXISM at its best….the lower minds of men scare me more than the lower ranks of heaven…whew

LikeDislikeMormons claim god has a physical body. We were made in his image. He fathered Jesus just as a human fathers a son. They are fond of saying, “his only BEGOTTEN son”, as reality, not metaphor.
Just where in the HOLY BIBLE (NOT The Book of Mormon) is there ANY description of LEVELS in Heaven. I’ve never seen any reference to this “concept”, in fact this is the first time I’ve seen it. Sounds like MORE 130 year old fairy-tale to me!
LikeDislikeUmmm, what about 1 Corinthians 15:41
Was this answer helpful?
LikeDislikeMiriam is right. But you have to remember that there are Three degrees of heaven: Celestial, Terrestrial, and Telestial. And then there are three degrees within the Celestial. The only place where there are eternal families is in the very top degree of the Celestial Kingdom. So the vast majority of people in the degrees of heaven, and the Celestial kingdom will not have to be “eternally pregnant.” Only those in the top third of the top third.
It’s sort of an exclusive place, and many people won’t want to be there. Then, as far as procreation in the top degree of the celestial kingdom, we don’t know how it will happen. We believe we are the “spirit children” of God. So our spirits were created by God, through some kind of procreative process. But we don’t know if that was through intercourse and pregnancy, like our mortal bodies.
So when gods make spirits, we don’t know if pregnancy is involved in the traditional sense.
It doesn’t sound like much fun to be “eternally pregnant,” but Mormons don’t really think this way when they think about heaven. We just don’t know much about it, but we trust it is a nice place.
LikeDislikeThree degrees of Heaven with three degrees in the top? Eternal families? Spirit children? I’ve never seen ANY of this mentioned in the NIV Holy Bible, also not in the KJV Holy Bible. Is this more of “The Book of Mormon” stuff? Joseph Smith must have gotten hold of some peyote, or something similar, when he wrote these things!
It’s really hard to swallow this stuff, when all this comes from a KNOWN con-man. He just HAPPENED to find inscribed “gold plates” WITH a conveniently placed way to decipher them. Also, discovering Egyptian scrolls, with stuff supporting his writings. Then, he just so-happens to “lose” these “gold plates”, and the deciphering tools. COME ON, who loses something supposedly so valuable? Baptizing the dead, by proxy, but up to the person in “the spirit-world” whether to accept, or not accept this. The Bible says you die, then there is the Judgement. No mention about any “spirit-world”, baptism of the dead, anything resembling such utter nonsense. And, “archaeological proof” that Jesus visited North America? Show me non-Mormon PROOF! How reasonable, clear thinking, intelligent people can accept these 130 year-old “teachings” of a known con-man is beyond me!

LikeDislike1 Corinthians 15:40 discusses the 3 degrees of glory, 2 Corinthians 12:2 Paul mentions the third heaven. Even the prophet Daniel talks of it in the Old Testament (Daniel chapter 12).
This is totally ridiculous man. Read the content.. Are you that ignorant? The NIV talks about spiritual bodies and heavenly bodies. Meaning that our bodies are different when we go to heaven and the next worse talks about how the sun moon and stars are different. In no way doesn’t it talk about levels and sub levels of heaven. That is ridiculous. There is absolutely no proof of any kind of reason of Mormon beliefs in the Christian bible. None. The bible says the only way to heaven (one and only heaven, with the Father aka God, not ruling your own planet or whatever) is through the acceptance of Jesus Christ. He was born of a virgin. God did not impregnate Mary like the Mormons believe. That would totally nullify the prophecy of the Old Testament and cause Jesus not to be the true Christ. Just crazy how Mormons can actually believe they are Christians.
This may seem goofy, but the Mayans had 19 hells and 11 heavens of different levels. Maybe Mormons should institute throwing people into Cenotes to obtain the higher levels.

LikeDislikeDoug H.
To be clear about D&C 132 you have to understand what was the intent of what was written and then canonized scripture at the time. “Higher law,” or “law of marriage,” or in this reference to “law” within marriage, at that time, was the same thing as saying Polygamy. We have inserted our own more PC version into our minds to be okay with our polygamist past. The LDS church’s correlated material have successfully spun this for you.
Many things have been altered in the BofM, D&C, and JSH. It’s common knowledge among even Mormon Apologists that this is truth.
The latest change I’m aware of is a more PC version of why the Lamanites had dark skin in the BofM.

LikeDislikeSo Jesus will be in a lower heaven because He wasn’t married???
LikeDislikeWho says he wasn’t? The Bible is unclear about it, but circumstances suggest He may have been married to Mary of Magdala at the wedding where He turned water into wine.
LikeDislikeWhat circumstance suggests that? Maybe Jesus Christ Super Star? Mary Magdalene was among the elder of the women mentioned as companions of Jesus. Her name usually comes up first when a group of woman are gathered together, implying respect for elders. She was likely older than Jesus’ mother, Mary. He ‘may have been’ sounds like an addition to the bible, to me. How about: He may have been allergic to walnuts. Or He may have been hyperactive. Or, He may have been the father of 17 children. It makes as much sense. I wish people would stop making things up. And where is the bible ‘unclear’ about His marital status? There are no hints at all about marriage. I’m so frustrated at people like you. Why don’t you go start a new religion based on ‘may have been’s? Like, we need another point of view from people who can’t think or read.
LikeDislikeThe bible is not the only source we have for info on Jesus and Mary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Magdalene is a good place to start for you to correct the misconceptions you have.

LikeDislikeONLY source of info, that is true, on Jesus, and Mary Magdaline, is THE HOLY BIBLE! Anything else, including The Book of Mormon, is heretical!
Maybe maybe maybe. That’s what interpretations tell us. Wonder about the recently discovered book of Mary Magdalene? Was it on golden tablets, too?
Pat I am a Christain I am curious about the beliefs of Mormon’s. I am not here to be rude nor pertake in any ill will or be judgemental. I was wondering what scripture you was refurring to that suggested that Jesus may have been married to Mary of Magdala at the wedding where he turned water into wine? I have often felt as if there was a bond between them that exceded just friendship. Thank you for any refrences you could give me pretaining to this.
LikeDislikeDO NOT ASK MORMON FOR SCRIPTURAL INFORMATION. They will give you their interpretation, and from The Book of Mormon (heretical). And, quit reading things into holy scripture! Dangerous ground. You need strong theological background to interpret original writings. There was NOTHING more than just friendship there! Please, leave it at that.
LikeDislikeYou are incorrect. It is every person’s responsibility to interpret everything they read, especially from the Bible. Leaving the interpretation to those “educated” in theology leaves us at the mercy of the doctrine of those who came before us regardless of if they were right or wrong or relevant to modern society.

LikeDislikeyou Miss Carol, you claim that Jesus Christ is in the lowest Celestial heaven.
In truth, it is false. The absolute truth, He the Lord Jesus Christ is in the highest Degree of Celstial Glory, above all things, standing at the right hand of His Heavenly Father Elohim. If the patriarch of the Earth, Adam, known in premortality as Michael was married to mother Eve and I know that Adam and Eve are Exalted as a Celestial god and goddess because according to 1 corinthians 11:11, neither is the man without the woman, neither is the woman without the man in the Lord (Heavenly Father and Jesus-Christ), then Adam’s Superior Officer in the Universe, the Lord Jehovah who is Christ is married because the Lord Jesus follows Heavenly Father’s lifestyle of Eternal marriage, necessary for Eternal life, the bearing of spirit children.
We are children of Heavenly Parents and men and women were spirits born of an Eternal Father and Mother.
Heaveny Father, when He sent His Son to be our Redeemer, He sent three valiant women named Mary, Martha and Mary Magdalene to minister to the Lord. LDS Apostle Orson Pratt and Orson Hyde, who served under Brigham Young correctly said that these three women are the Celestial Wives of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our Redeemer is going to bear spirit children in heaven just as Our Father God did for us.
My name is Francis Vessigault, a convert to the Church and I respect to the uttermost the LDS Temple covenants found in the Endowment because I know that in the Eternities I will be exalted.
I was baptized on April 6, 1997, received the Melchizedek Priesthood on March 1, 1998and my Endowment on May 22, 1998 prior to my mission in France.
My daughter was born in the Covenant. I was married previously in the Temple of the Lord but my ex apostasized. I feel sorrow for her but forgave her. I know that Heavenly Father knows my heart and will not fail in seeing me succeed in staying faithful to my baptismal and especially my Temple Covenants as I love to study Heavenly Father’s Universe. The Galaxy called the Milky Way contains at least 294 Billion stars and the Andromeda Galaxy contains 406 Billion stars. Our Sun is white yellow, shining at 10 800 Fahrenheit but the core is hot at over 28 million degrees.
I am urging Temple covenants keepers to study books regarding the Solar System and the Universe because knowledge of the Universe is a commandment from the Lord God as a condition to being Exalted. We as mortal beings do not have priesthood keys to organize universes but men who are faithful in all things will create universes and these exalted prophets are Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and modern ones like Joseph Smith, Brigham Young will create universes, under the leadership of the King of Kings, Jehovah/Jesus Christ.

LikeDislikeThe opening post has a glaring inaccuracy. Women, i.e. resurrected women that are being referred to, don’t “have” spirit children anyway. A physical body cannot give birth to a spirit. The scriptures are clear that a being can only give birth to something that is like itself. No one would say that a spirit could give birth to a physical body, but for some reason, many people assume that a resurrected person will spit out spirits. Only a spirit body can give birth to a spirit body. Resurrected couples “have” spirit children in the sense that they help intelligences progress and enter spirit bodies. A resurrected, exalted woman will give birth to a physical body not a spirit. Where do you think Adam came from? Heavenly Father and Jehovah didn’t just move dirt around to make Adam, they, as a family, helped raise the boy that Heavenly Mother gave birth to (after allowing Adam’s spirit to enter it). Not complicated.

LikeDislikeI would like to add something here, as a former Mormon myself, I know the D & C, now there are changes constantly in Mormon beliefs to prevent the government be is local, state, and federal from coming down on them like a ton of bricks. Here is what I know, the King James Version of the bible has been the same for hundreds of years and will remain the same for hundreds more. While some practices such as poly marriages are no longer practiced by most Christians, it wasn’t removed from the bible to save face. The old D & C is correct, Abraham did have multiple wives, and God never changes so the logic would dictate multiple wives would be fine in God’s eyes, while it is not ok in man’s eyes. Abraham was not subject to a license to get married, but rather made vows before God, seeing as how God is the only one that matters anyways. A man may take a 100 wives if he can support them, but only one can be on paper. The rest can as they say today shack up
Was this answer helpful?
LikeDislikeReferring back to your statement about the Bible never being changed. The Bible has been written and interpreted into many other languages that is unbelievable. Somebody could have switched around the whole story about Jesus Christ and how it came to be(excuse me if I am wrong I have never even touched a Bible.) You never know. Its kind of like that game telephone? You whisper something to the person next to you, that person whispers what you said to the person next to them and so on and so on and at the end of it all what you said could be completely different than what the last person says because somebody in the chain of people could have misunderstood the person they received the whisper from or they could have thought it was funny to change it up. Get what I mean?
LikeDislikeThere is a lot of misconception about the translations. There are many different translations of the bible. My pastor explained it to me like this, (assuming you were fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish)if you had a paragraph in English, could you write it in Spanish. Yes. Now assuming the next person could do the same. Now, could this person translate this English paragraph into Spanish. Yes. Now, comparing both, are they written Exactly the same way, No. Is the message coming through in both, yes. It is not like the telephone game where the Bible is translated from each version to the next. It is translated from its original source for the NIV and so on and so forth. There a many other historical books that reference Jesus’ life on Earth and death and resurrection. It is heavily documented in non-religions books of the time. Go research and you will find that Jesus life on Earth is one of the most historically documented events out there, outside of the Bible. Now Mormonism, where is the proof in that? It is complete bogus and doesn’t make any sense. It has no Biblical backing, historical proof in its teachings. It is so sad that these people who really love God, have no idea of His true nature.
LikeDislikeYou said Jesus’ life is the most historically documented event out there, outside the bible – that is utter nonsense. Any secular person that wrote about the supposed historicity of Jesus (less than a handful to say the least and I’m being quite generous here) was not even alive when Jesus was supposedly walking the earth! In fact NO ONE who wrote the books of the bible itself were alive when Jesus was supposedly alive (on a sidenote, give a hard think on how the temptation of Jesus was written when he was all ALONE for 40 days and 40 nights). You call that reliable? No eyewitnesses for the entire story of Jesus? Josephus’ accounts alone have been PROVEN to be tampered with so as to collude with christianity. There are no Roman records to speak of about the infamous census that was behind Joseph and pregnant Mary travelling with ghost-baby in womb; the Romans kept meticulous records about everything – we know about any census they legitimately had. Let’s not forget that no document outside of the bible makes ANY mention of Jesus’ supposed miracles. Which it wouldn’t matter anyway because “miracle workers” were a dime a dozen back then and even mentioned other so called miracle workers in the bible itself. Lots of con-man wanna-be magicians. Lastly, even in your own bible, most of his life is not accounted for! He disappears after he’s born (Bethlehem? Nazereth? Who knows. Btw, archeology proves there was no such city as Nazareth during the time of Jesus and it emerged BECAUSE the bible said it existed). He reappears at around age 33 where he preaches and then is stuck on a stake to take a 3 day nap (he’s immortal remember, meaning it’s impossible for him to die, making his scapegoating “sacrafice” totally null and void). Sorry to be the one to tell you, but it’s all a big FAT lie.

LikeDislikeOK. Mormons have pat answer supporting polygamy but, it’s ONLY for benefit for MEN. Why does polygamy NOT allow women to have many husbands? Comes down to same thing. SEX! Man gets all the ‘action” he can stand. Why can’t the women? It’s only fair! And, think about this, that one woman would be very well supported in comparison to her “sisters” in the one man, many women polygamous marriage where those poor women have to usually live poorly on public assistance with no help with their many progeny.

LikeDislikeWhat about Matthew 19:4-6………. 4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” These are Jesus’s own words. No mention of wives. Clearly Jesus and God intended man to be united to one wife.

LikeDislikeI’ve heard Mormons say that everyone has free will and can get into heaven by the grace of God and their own works. That contradicts their other beliefs stated here that a man or woman cannot get to heaven without an eternal spouse. I don’t see how they can read KJV or any other version and square the Truth with their beliefs. Getting to Heaven to be with God is the goal – not some made up goal of becoming a god to create your own universe. If your goal is to become your own god, that is saying you think you could do better than God. That is such blasphemy it hurts to type it.

LikeDislikeps: check out the Bible. there isn’t even marriage in heaven. matthew 22:30. ol’ joe trumps God again, i spose
EMC, read that verse with the word married as a verb. And concerned, it doesn’t say heaven, remember the my fathers kingdom has many mansions? There are requirements that must be followed to enter into the different levels of heaven. If you want to be a ball player you must dress as they do, follow the rules they do, know the rules and follow them as they do. It is the same to be a part of an organization of doctors or pilots or what ever. Why do you think it so bad for God to say what is required of people to enter His “club”, or His kingdom or what level? To be a karate (SIC), person you must follow the rules and be able to perform certain moves and dress as they do or you don’t get in! Why cant you accept that the Creator of us all has set requirements for people to enter into His society and live with celestial beings that have all paid their dues? Look, if you want to be a part of it, follow its rules, act as they do, dress as they do and you can come in! THAT EASY. Otherwise, move on. I think you are just afraid that you cant measure up so you want the rules changed to include you, sorry, this isn’t Obamas government, its Gods!
